Also called Pinot Gris, Pinot Grigio produces a light, crisp white wine. Italy is the biggest producer, specifically Lombardy and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, but Pinot Grigio is also grown and produced in the Alsace region of France, Australia, Oregon, and California, among other places.
Our Lanza Pinot Grigio is light, refreshing, and floral with fresh lemon and pear flavors. It has a great mouthfeel which makes it very food friendly. This wine is best when it’s young, which means about two years from the vintage. Since it’s crisp and refreshing, this wine is an ideal choice for warm weather and a “must-have” on picnics. Enjoy it with light dishes such as chicken and seafood, but the acid helps to balance rich sauces and slightly spicy foods.
|Blend:||100% Pinot Grigio|
- 2 Cups Fresh Basil Leaves
- 2 T. Chopped Parsley
- 1 Clove Garlic
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 1/2 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1/4 Cup Half & Half
- 4 T. Butter (softened)
- 1 Package Pasta (any type)
Blanch basil leaves and drain well.
Place basil, parsley, garlic, cheese, and half & half in a blender or food processor. Add salt and pepper to taste. Blend until fine.
Place mixture in a mixing bowl and add butter.
Cook pasta according to package directions and drain well and place in your serving bowl. Pour pesto sauce over pasta and toss until evenly coated. Top with grated parmesan cheese.
We know you will enjoy Nonna’s version of Pasta with Pesto. It isn’t typical, in that most pesto recipes call for olive oil instead of half & half.
This is another Lanza Family favorite and we hope you and your family will enjoy it as much as we have over the years.
