2006  Syrah

Upfront plum and cassis aromas dominate the nose. Traditional syrah characteristics of smoke and a meaty quality express themselves with hints of anise and leather in the end of the bouquet. Palate follows nose with more plum and black currant flavors. This wine is soft and approachable with elegant nutmeg spice in the finish.

Pairs Well With

Roasted Leg of Lamb

    Basting Sauce
    1 C Fresh Lemon Juice
    1 C Olive Oil
    6 to 8 Garlic Cloves mashed
    4 Tb Dried Oregano

    6 to 8 lb Leg of Lamb
    Salt & Pepper


Directions:

Preheat oven to 325°F

Trim excess fat from lamb place in a heavy roasting pan and rub with a generous amount of salt and pepper.

Put roast in oven and baste every 15 minutes until inner temp registers 145°F (this is for medium). Remove from oven and cover with foil for 15 to 20 minutes. Slice lamp and pour pan juices over the top.
